KWEEZZZ 1- CLASSIC MOVIES

This was the first quiz I conducted on the @kweezzz handle ( If you are still not following it, I suggest you stop reading this post, follow it and return).

In all questions except one, you have to identify the images and make the connection to get the answer. Based on movie screenshots.

ANSWERS

A1. The person on the left is Leo Tolstoy, author of novels such as War and Peace, Anna Karenina and A Confession. The images on the right are movie adaptations of War and Peace.

Movie on the top right is the 1956 English version.

The other one is the critically acclaimed 4 part Soviet epic made in 1965.

A2. The movie is The Adventures of Prince Achmed, a German animated fantasy movie made in 1926. It is the oldest surviving animated feature film.

A3.  The answer is Gregory Peck.  The movies, clockwise from top left are Moby Dick (thats him as Captain Ahab) , Cape Fear (1962) and the 1991 remake of the same starring Robert De Niro in which Peck had a cameo.

A4.  The person on the left is Fritz Lang who directed the incredible sci-fi movie Metropolis in 1927. The image on the right is a scene from Metropolis.

A5. That is Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. He wrote Devdas and Parineeta. The movie on the right is the 1953 adaptation of Parineeta starring Ashok Kumar and Meena Kumari.

A6. The naked dude is Sean Connery in the Mr. Universe contest. The two movies on the right are Dr. No and From Russia With Love.

A7. The person on the left is Sergei Eisenstein, the legendary Soviet Russian movie director. He directed the 2 movies on the right-  Ivan The Terrible I and Ivan The Terrible II.

A8.  The 1st image is from the movie ‘The Forbidden Planet‘ , a classic sci-fi made in 1956. The image below is of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. The characters and settings in the movie have been compared to the play.

A9. The pretty woman is Nimmi and that is her last movie with Dilip Kumar- Uran Khatola, made in 1955.

A10.  Lady on the left is Rita Hayworth and the image on the right is from The Shawshank Redemption. Stephen King wrote ‘Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption’ on which the movie was based. Also, the poster of Rita Hayworth was the first one which Andy Dufresne used in his cell.

A11. The connect is A Clockwork Orange. Clockwise from top left- Anthony Burgess- writer, Stanley Kubrick- director and Malcolm Mc Dowell- the lead actor.

A12.  The person on the top left is F.W. Murnau, undeniably one of the most influential persons of the silent era and German expressionist cinema. The movie just below his image is his movie Faust , made in 1926. The movie on the top right is Nosferatu , perhaps the best vampire movie made yet. The one below it is Shadow of the Vampire, a fictionalized account of the making of Nosferatu.
